OUR DJS

Dave Vice

I first started DJing in the late 1980’s when I was 15 years of age. I didn’t have a pair of decks so I first practiced on a stacking hi fi system with another belt drive turntable plumbed into it. I would spend hours on end in my bedroom mixing house and european techno, until eventually my older brother agreed to let me have his Technics SL-1200 Mk2 turntables and mixer.

In the early 1990’s the hardcore raves burst onto the scene and I fully embraced both the partying and the music that went with it. In no time I was winning local DJ competitions and playing live gigs in nightclubs for the first time. I also had a weekly show on a local pirate radio station Bong FM.

Since those early days I’ve done radio shows on Green Apple and Flex FM. I’ve also held a 10 year tenancy on Point Blank FM with John Sovereign as one half of the Vice Squad. In the early noughties, I, along with a collective of friends and like minded DJ’s, MC’s and creatives started promoting club nights in the Home Counties. Most notable were Vice Versa in Maidenhead and

Mumbo in Bracknell. Around those times I was also involved with the free party scene in the area. I have in the past had regular appearances at many London club nights including Planet Angel and Loop and have DJ’d as far afield as Thailand, Croatia, Spain and the Czech Republic. I’ve also DJ’d at UK festivals such as Illusive and Boomtown in the last few years.

I am not only a DJ. I also produce music and have worked on various remixes, productions and edits whilst working in Germany, Italy, Spain and back home in my UK based studio.

I have expertise in a variety of genres ranging from UK house through to breaks, dubstep, oldskool hardcore, techno and drum and bass and this is reflected in my shows and live sets.

You can catch me on Cutters Choice Radio for my regular Lunchtime Lockdown every Friday from 12pm til 3pm.
